Who is responsible
Aiden Ricksen, trading as Ricksen Consultancy, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. I am responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach me at info [at] ricksen.com.
What I collect
When you send the contact form, I receive:
- your name, business email address and project description (needed to be able to reply; without them the form cannot be sent);
- anything you choose to add, all optional: organization, role, phone number, company website, what you are interested in, where you are now, when you would like to start, and how you found me.
To keep spam out, the website saves a small record in a temporary file on the server: a hashed (scrambled) version of your IP address and the times of your recent messages. A hashed IP address is still personal data; the IP address itself is not stored. The record only serves to limit repeated sends, and records older than an hour are deleted automatically. How long the form was open is checked to filter out bots and is not stored.
If you email me or message me on LinkedIn instead, I receive what you send.
Why, and on what basis
- Replying to your inquiry and discussing a possible collaboration. If you write to me as an individual about a possible agreement, the basis is taking steps at your request before an agreement. If you write on behalf of an organization, the basis is my legitimate interest in running my business.
- Spam protection and security, including the server logs of my hosting provider. The basis is my legitimate interest in keeping this website and my mailbox secure and usable.
I do not use your data for newsletters, advertising, profiling or automated decisions.
Who sees it
Me. Your inquiry arrives in my mailbox and is not sold or shared for marketing.
My web hosting provider (Esmero) runs this website, sends the form's email and hosts my mailbox on my behalf. It keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and time of a visit, for security. See their own privacy information for details.
The LinkedIn link takes you to LinkedIn, which has its own privacy policy. This website itself loads nothing from LinkedIn or other third parties.
How long I keep it
For as long as it takes to handle your inquiry and any follow-up. If no collaboration follows, I delete it within 12 months. If we do work together, I keep what the work and the law require, for example for my administration. Spam-protection records are deleted after an hour.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Your message is delivered to my own mailbox, and only I read it.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts are served from this website, not from a third party.
Your rights
You can ask me to show, correct, delete or restrict the data I hold about you, to receive a copy, and to object to processing that is based on my legitimate interest. Email me and I will respond within one month. You may also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
